After my dogs liked the Greenies so much, I went on a quest to find a more natural dental chew. Thanks to Sitstay.com I found the Zuke's Z-Ridge Dental chews, and I bought 25 to offer to my pets.

The dogs LOVED the Zuke's chews, but it only took about five minutes tops for them to whip through the largest size. At slightly over $5/chew, I was feeling slightly cheated when the dogs didn't have to work harder to finish them off.

All in all, if you're trying to transition your dog from Greenies to something more natural, give Zuke's a try. It's a great treat; it's just not practical for me to buy them for five dogs.

Pros: All natural, easily digestible, no corn, wheat, or soy

Cons: Pricey, only available online or at speciality pet stores, short chew time

these things are life savers because my dog is allowed to run around everywhere and he can get into some pretty funky stuff! after he goes out he usually comes in with bad breath. (especially after hunting season when people leave their scraps everywhere.) but i can give him these dental bones afterwards and it helps with the breath and keeps the teeth clean.

Pros: helps with breath, seems to keep teeth clean and gums healthy

Cons: they cost is a little more than cheap chew bones and i need to use a lot of them it seems

My dog always loved Zuke's dental bones. I did not buy them on a regular basis but when I did give him one he would excitedly run through the house with the bone in his mouth until he found a spot to lay down and get to work on it. Very good for his teeth.

Cons: don't last long

My dogs don't get these often but when they do they really enjoy them. The bonus for me is they do a great job of cleaning their teeth and freshening their breath. They must taste pretty good because my dogs won't leave them until they are completely gone.
