I have used this product before switching to CET brand toothpaste. The CET Tartar control is the most effective brand I've used so far. Petrodex is more readily available and can be found in most stores. It is more gloopy than the CET brand. It is cheaper, and if you have big dogs with big teeth, it might be worth it in the long run. They have big tubes that are economical as well.

The color is a light brown, and the flavor I think is poultry or liver. My dogs like any kind of toothpaste (esp the vanilla mint CET brand).

With the right dog toothbrush (don't use a human one, too hard the bristles), just squirt some on and brush the teeth. I like to hold the dog's snout closed while brushing the front teeth, then loosely hold it when brushing the sides, so that the teeth that are normally covered by other teeth get brushed too. The dogs try to lick it and chew when I am brushing the sides. They like it.

It is easier to rinse off the brush when done as compared to the CET brand.

Overall I say it's a good value. I still prefer the CET brand as it seems to make a difference over time (like the next day or so it still seems clean).

I buy from entirelypets on the internet so the cost isn't so bad, plus if you spend enough, the shipping is free. Even if you pay shipping, it is very affordable.

The worst part about Petrodex Dog Toothpaste is that our dog is sick of it, literally. He had a penchant for vomiting and we couldn't figure it out until one of our family members had a hunch that it might be the toothpaste he was using.

We took him off Petrodex and he immediately was well the very next day.

There is something in this toothpaste that must be toxic or causes vomiting in certain dogs. We cannot recommend a product that causes this sort of reaction in pets.

This also places a serious doubt on Sergeant pet products with us. We won't be buying anything from this manufacturer again.

This works pretty good for dogs that allow you to brush their teeth. My dogs are fine with it. The only problem is that it is difficult to rinse off the toothbrush after. I guess that's not a bad thing since that must mean it clings to their teeth too.

We bought the pack that came with the brush and the paste. When we tried it, the dog loved it! He likes to try and lick all the paste off, so it's interesting trying to brush all his teeth. I would recommend this

My dog really doesn't mind this toothpaste. She has really bad teeth so we have to try everything. This works well.
