CET Toothpaste

posted 3 months ago

My dog likes this paste and it does a good job of freshening his breath. I can't say it does much for cleaning his teeth. Within the next 24 hours he is very sick with vomiting and diarrhea. It took a while to figure out what was causing him to be sick like this. I wonder what it is in the paste that is making him so sick?

[updated on 2013-02-24 11:23:20]:
Just looked up the definition of methyl salicylate. This is listed in the ingredients of the CET Vanilla Mint toothpaste I've been using on my dogs. He kept vomiting and having diarrhea, acting very sick and also having seizures each time I would brush his teeth. This stuff is used as a menthol flavoring I guess. Its also used for topical creams like Ben Gay. It's very toxic even in the smallest amounts.

Pros: Cleans

Cons: Makes my dog vomit

Great for dog dental care

posted 4 years ago

Our shelter dog, Vinnie, loved to have his teeth brushed and this was his favorite flavor. It kept his teeth healthy and it was very easy to administer.

Pros: Great health benefits

Cons: None
