Lani Shampoos and Conditioners will pamper your outdoorsy pooch.
November 30, 2010 3:13 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.
When the great outdoors beckon, you and your pawed pal can be tempted to enjoy any number of outside activities. But before you lower that tailgate and let Fido jump in, consider the line of outdoor-specific shampoos and conditioners from Lani. These unique products are tailored to keep your dog’s coat shiny and soft even after a rough and tumble day out of doors. The shampoos and conditioners come in “Park,” “Beach,” and “Woods” varieties and with our trusty tester dog, I tried out two of the three.
The Lani Woods shampoo – which is made of 100% natural ingredients – contains horsetail, white willow and rosemary and promptly returned my dogs’ coat to its natural state after a day tromping through the forest. The product also contains green tea extract to scare away bugs that might have illusions about making a permanent home in your pet’s coat. After using the shampoo, our tester dog’s fur was very clean, but a bit stiff and brittle.
I applied the “Woods” conditioner, which contains several ingredients to protect the skin, and moisture immediately returned to the fur. After sudsing our tester dog up with the conditioner and giving him one more rinse, I was pleased to find his fur clean, bug-free and soft to the touch.
On another occasion, upon returning from a late season bonfire, our tester dog not only smelled like salt-water and sand, but also barbecued hot dog and cheap beer. I scrubbed him up with the “Beach” shampoo and conditioner, and the scent was quickly alleviated and his skin and fur returned to their pre-bonfire state. Lani Beach Shampoo contains aloe vera, chamomile, baking soda and oatmeal and is designed to heal any minor cuts or scratches your dog may have incurred from sand or rocks as well as return the shine to its coat.
These specialty shampoos and conditioners are very effective, and a great way to make your outdoor-loving pet smell and look like a pampered indoor pooch.
Pros: Wonderful smell; high-quality ingredients.
Cons: None.
