I have used these leather collars on hounds and large breed dogs over the years. They last and will not break, the disadvantage is having another dog chew on them. The clasp is where it is metal and will not break,so a lunging hound will not break his collar. they are durable and clean up with a leather cleaner. you can burn your information into the leather. I use smaller sizes on some of my male dogs.
I just love these collars!
