This tie out is fine if you're at a picnic, and want to let your pup romp, while you keep him safe and supervised. However, you should NEVER leave any dog (much less a pup) unsupervised for any length of time while being tied. So many ways to get hurt, or become territorial/aggressive.

I use this when taking a dog to a place like the annual employee picnic, but I would never tie out a dog except for very short periods and under strict supervision in such situations.

Pros: Useful in some situations

Cons: Can be misused

If your schedule is so busy that you can't stand outside with your puppy with or without a leash, then don't get a puppy.

Pros: NONE

Cons: Don't leave a puppy on a tie out
