Bark collars usually work but are a very negative way to train your dog. I would use this only as a last resort for a very determined barker. Really, the best idea is to stay away from breeds that tend to bark a lot if you live in an apartment or can't handle it.

This collar just teaches your dog not to bark when he is wearing it so if you take it off, you'll still have the same problem. He hasn't learned anything so I can't consider it a "training" collar.

My dogs is a constant barker. We have a very large backyard with a partial privacy fence. If he knows someone is on the other side he goes crazy. There are times that I have needed to put on the collar to give the neighbors peace. His long hair often gets in the way so it is not as effective unless I shave the area.

Pros: Not the best way

Cons: Hate that I have resorted to this

It seems to cut back on my dog barking a little. I think that it doesn't work well through fur. It also doesn't seem to work while he is lying down. Although it does work somewhat I am thinking of returning it for one of the sonic collars.

Pros: barking has gone down some

Cons: dog still barks a lot
