We have had really good luck with the gentle leader. Our 80 lb Shepard/Ridgeback mix, while otherwise very obedient, was lunging at other dogs when we walked on the trails. The gentle leader give us much better control with her and pretty much has stopped the lunging. We also use it with our 72 lb redbone coonhound/shepard mix to keep her focused during training and walking. The only negative is that it can be hard to put on a dog at first when they are squirming.

These are great for training...In use them for all my dogs. They are gentle and not abrasive on their noses, which is a must for my dogs.
