Fieldpro Scout Collar

posted 5 years ago

We bought this collar over two years ago to try and keep our dogs on our property. Our place is too big to do the underground fencing and we thought this could be an alternative. We really only used the collar two times- after that, we only needed to use the beeping tone and the dogs would come back to us. Before the first year was up, the collar stopped beeping. It would still turn on, but no beep. We sent it back to Innotek and they sent us a new receiver. That replacement has also stopped beeping now. Of course, this replacement only had a 90 day warranty. Now we have to decide whether to buy a new receiver. Is it worth $95 every year just to have the beeping tone? I am looking for alternatives.

Bottom line- when it worked, it was effective and possibly even a lifesaver. Our dog started getting in the habit of walking on the frozen pond. One use of the collar and he has never stepped out on the ice again.

Pros: It is good when it works

Cons: has stopped working

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
