The trolley gave our dog some freedom when we couldn't fence our yard. It allowed us to easily let him out when the weather was bad and we didn't want to stand there holding a leash. We lived several places and it moved easily with us. We had it attached to a tree on one end and had thick boards on our porch for the other end. The 10 ft lead allowed us to clip the dog on without going outside. Another house we had it attached to a screw that was driven into the brick of the house. It was fantastic. We used the 100 ft line, so our dog had lots of room to run along the length.

Pros: 10 ft lead gave dog wiggle room

Cons: after a few years, plastic started breaking off

We used this before we had our yard fenced to let our dog run in the backyard. He knew how far he could go before he hit the end. It is a temporary solution, though. Walking should always come first.
