This lighting band uses elastic and velcro to fasten to the dog like a collar or can open and fold around a leash and will stay put. By pressing the internal button, it emmits very bright red LED flashing lights that make your pet VERY visible during those twilight walks. I put one band on each of my three dogs and noticed how the cars would slow down as they approached because they saw the flashing lights (and probably nothing else.) My dogs did not seem to notice or care that they had light displays attached to them.

If you walk on streets without sidewalks, I highly recommend this product or one just like it. The battery came with the unit and it is the type that you can get at drug stores or a department chain.

These are really neat. Sometimes I take my two dogs walking at twilight, and I feel alot safer with the bands. They show up brightly making my dogs easy to see. They are very strong and durable too.

I really like these collars in general and with the luminous safety band that is another plus.Two of my dogs are mostly black,and on the rare occasion that they get away from me at night,it really helps me spot them when i am shining a flashlight.
