this is useful at the kennel so the dog will not pull. they also use these when we take the dog to the trainers. they recommend these collars so the dog will follow instead of lead you while walking

Most people aren't aware that these don't stop the dog's normal head movement or wish to pull. They just severely limit it and can injure the dog when s/he forgets and whips the head around. The safest training device for headstrong pullers is the Prong or Pinch collar, next is a conventional smooth slip chain (not choke- they respond to the sound)- and last, a headcollar.

I loved this when I had a german shephard that pulled every where. It worked like magic. Don't use in Texas summers though the dogs need to breathe!
