First of all let me say that the shelter director at our shelter does not allow these.

The dog should be walked next to you or behind you not out front making all the decisions. This is exactly what this leash does.. let the dog walk out in front.

Now how would you like to meet Jack on a flexi leash.
Jack is a 75 lb male pit bull 2 years old with alot of energy.

Also think how I feel when I meet a little yapper out on a flexileash trying to make contact with my dogs.
All are pit bulls..

Cons: the dog is the leader with these.

This leash is great for when we go to the beach or for a hike to give our dog a bit more freedom. We do not use it when we walk her at home in NYC as you do not have as much control in high traffic situations.

Cons: Bad for city walking
