We used to have a regular leash, but that hurted my hand because my dog would pull me down the sidewalk. It's like she walking me. Since I'm a slow walker with this retractable leash I was able to let my dog run ahead of me without her straining and choking herself. It is easy to handle and my hand doesn't hurt. It also lasted for awhile, so I recommand this brand if you're going to buy a retractable leash.

I have both the classic and all-belt style of flexi-lead. I like both, but prefer the classic. Mostly b/c it is lighter weight. The belt is heavier and tends to hang lower and get in the way more often. If you have a really large dog though, you don't have a choice and should use the all belt for extra strengh. This lead will not work if the belt gets wet. I just leave it all unrolled to dry out and then it works again. I haven't had this problem with the classic, but it wouldn't be a good idea for any of them to be rolled up wet anyway.

This is a great leash, but only for some circumstances. It is VERY easy for the dog to get out of control of go after something if it has this much room. It is not a good leash for training, you need more control when you are doing that.

Make sure when you use this, you are in an area where your dog can have that much roaming space with no issues.

I like these - and this one will work for the big dogs - more freedom to roam for the dog, and good control and easy on the hand for the walker!

Siberian huskies are known to pull up to 9 times their own body weight, so you need a strong lead like this one to keep them in check.
