We bought this for our great dane/shepherd mix, Chris, when at the tack store when buying a new winter turnout blanket for my horse, Cracker (also weatherbeeta). The brand is known in the horse world for being of top quality, durable, well fitting, and good at staying on houdini horses - well, we figured we couldn't go wrong buying one for our dog who would have it on only a fraction of the time - when we went on walks.

We had a pretty bad winter, but Chris stayed warm and dry on all of his walks, be it raining or snow. It's tough finding a coat big enough for him in length and depth (he has a deep chest and long back), but this fits him perfectly. He could even run and roll around without the blanket twisting around on him. We've had a ton of people (especially those with large dogs) ask where we got it and we definitely do not hesitate recommending it.

A little expensive, but 100% worth it.

This is a priliminary review on this blanket, I originally ordered a different style, but got sent this one by mistake, its very nice quality, warm, reflective, tear-resistant outter shell, it also has a chest guard which extends over the belly and provides extra warmth.
Its definitely very price compatible, none of the coats you'll find at chain petstores match the quality or price, its well made by a well known horse blanket company, so I have high hopes, I'll update this review once the winter rolls around to see how it holds up, but it looks very sturdy.

I love this coat/blanket for the my dog. Its water proof and warm. My dog is a weim/lab mix so she has a very long body with a deep chest. It was hard to find a coat that would fit her in a pet store. Weatherbeeta is originally a copmany that makes horse blankets so yo know their producgt is tough! Raven loves the velcro straps instead of haveing to pull something over her head. I highly reccomend this product.

Gave one of these to a friend with an old poodle. Although she kept the dog cut short, his 'fluffyness' interfered with the use of the velcro. I bought her another coat and she gave the coat I gave her to another friend with a Min Pin. The Min Pin owner is delighted with it...

Pros: easy on/off; easy cleaning; hard to stain

Cons: limited durability; velcro is an iffy closure for dogs that are not smooth coated

These are great for dogs who love to run outside, even at coolest temps. Two years ago, I managed to get a couple for Rebel. He is a very large dog. He need to stay the size he is, but he does Exercise and playfulness have contributed tons.

Pros: Protects your dog from extremes of temps.
