Lands' End Dog Rain Jacket & Hat
(5 out of 5)
The Lands' End Dog Rain Jacket & Hat is a durable, appealing ensemble.
October 6, 2011 9:59 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.
The company Lands’ End has become practically synonymous with high-quality gear for outdoor adventures in most types of weather. So it should come as little surprise that the Lands’ End Dog Rain Jacket is a high-quality, durable garment designed to protect your pooch during rainstorms with a comfortable, easy fit.
The exterior material of the Lands’ End Dog Rain Jacket is made from sturdy polyurethane that comes in a pleasing “goldenrod” hue. The color is not quite blaring yellow, like some other raincoats of both the canine and the human variety, but for some owners, this might be a bonus. And a white trim helps to keep the overall look stylish and chic.
For dogs who are bothered not only by the rain, but also by chills that can come along with stormy weather, the Lands’ End Dog Rain Jacket also features a jersey lining for added warmth. The lining also serves to keep the coat comfortable against your dog’s skin, a definite plus.
The Lands’ End ensemble also includes a rain hat, but the topper is not designed to fit all dogs, so if you’re looking for rain protection that also helps to protect your dog’s head and face, this may not be the jacket for you. And the sizing range is less specific than other raincoats made for canines, offering XS through XL with five sizing options (compared with other dog jackets that offer up to seven sizing options).
However, these are small drawbacks to an otherwise high-quality, attractive coat. And the retail cost – around $15 during some online sales — is surprisingly reasonable for a jacket that is this cute and cozy.
Pros: High-quality material; jersey lining for additional warmth.
Cons: Hat does not fit all dogs.
