High quality for the price point

posted 6 years ago

Although 'natural' is a loaded word in the food business, Purina Naturals Turkey and Barley Formula is a high quality food for the price point. Both of my dogs like it, and the lack of chicken is great (they get very gassy if they eat chicken in any quantity). Meat and whole grains are the major ingredients, with relatively few questionable items.
I am thinking of switching to Evo Red Meat, but in terms of something you can find almost anywhere, it is a huge step up from the basics of the big brands (like Purina, Iams, Science Diet etc). It has 27% protein!
I have been feeding it for about a year and a half with Tahki, and he is finicky. I would recommend trying it for a picky eater. The kibble size is excellent for smaller dogs, it might be a little small for the big guys!

Pros: No corn, no chicken

Cons: A few suspect ingrdients

Real Turkey is the #1 Ingredient

posted 6 years ago

My dogs seemed to be getting bored with their food so saw this new product at Walmart and like the ingredients so bought a can to try mixing with my dogs dry food. They loved it, gobbled it up and licked the bowl. I like the fact that it includes veggies in their diet; it has potatoes, carrots and spinach in it. The smell was awesome. Its the first thing I have found to feed them that really smelled good!

Pros: Dogs loved it, great smell, no wheat

Cons: a little pricey, $1.24 a can at Walmart

Decent food but not the best choice

posted 6 years ago

This is a good solid choice. Pretty healthy and used as a topper for a good dry food like Purina, it goes a long way and is not to pricey.

But why not go to the other and better Purina choice, ProPlan and do your best friend a favor.

Pros: dog liked it, not to expensive

Cons: None

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
