Helps pudgies become beanpoles

posted 6 years ago

Putting some green beans in your chubby doggy's food is a tip that's apparently been around awhile.

(Note - it's INSTEAD of some dog food, not in ADDITION!)

Tucker's getting the treatment now. I know of another northern breed, a Malamute, that's been on this diet successfully, so we're going to try.

I gotta think that it's better than the prescription dog food from my veterinarian. Peanut shells? Oy!

Pros: Helps dogs slim down, a simple additive that you control

Cons: But it's not meat

Not for our dogs

posted 6 years ago

When Hrothgar had gained some weight, it was suggested we feed the green beans to him. Well he hated the beans. He spit them out and ate around them.

I know the diet works as a friend of my had a lab and the diet worked with her.

So if your dog likes green beans, needs to lose weight, try the diet.

Pros: will lose weight, affordable

Cons: some dogs don't like it.

Good diet food

posted 6 years ago

My dog, Gabi, has been on the green bean diet. She did really well on it and lost fifteen pounds. We did make sure to feed her the low sodium green beans.

Pros: healthy

Cons: none

Dogs like 'em!

posted 6 years ago

We giggled the first time Benny scarfed up a green bean. But this is one of those treats that a dog can enjoy without worrying about what it's doing to his girlish figure.

Pros: Good and good for them, too!

Cons: None

Iams ProActive Health Multi-Cat Chicken & Salmon Cat Food

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
