The Lectro Pet Bed Warmer keeps napping spots toasty and cozy.

January 5, 2012 11:32 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.

Like their human parents, most pets enjoy having a warm place to stretch out and take a long snooze. A sunny spot on the floor, or the seat on the couch that you just vacated can sometimes fit the bill, but in colder weather some pets need a little extra warmth, such as the K&H Lectro Pet Bed Warmer.

The Lectro Pet Bed Warmer is a basic low-wattage electric heat source that measures about 20 inches by 6 inches, meaning that it can fit into almost any pet bed. And the warmer does a reliably effective job of heating your pet’s napping nook, which also means that not only will your pet have a cozy spot for sleeping — especially comforting to senior pets or pet suffering from hip and joint problems — but also, your pet will be less likely to seek out unsafe sources of heat, such as radiators or stovetops.

As with any electrically heated pet bed or pet bed warmer, it’s important to keep an eye on the cords for any signs of fraying or wear, especially if you have a power chewer in your household. Considering that the marketplace now offers other ways of heating your pet’s bed, such as microwaveable warmers or beds that stay warm as a result of your pet’s own body, some owners may feel that an electric warmer is not worth the anxiety about safety. But if you’re looking for a traditional electric warmer, the K&H offering is a solid option.

Pros: Keeps sleeping spots warm; discourages pets from seeking out unsafe heat sources.

Cons: As with all electric products, watch for any signs of fraying or wear around the cords.

A great product!

posted 6 years ago

These are essential for keeping a sick animal's body temperature up or keeping young litters nice and cozy. As with all electric pads or heating devices, caution and supervision are absolutely necessary.

Pros: Warm, soft.

Cons: Risk of shock or fire if used improperly.
