I bought this by the gallon to keep my smaller GSD from chewing and licking her feet. She has no skin allergies elsewhere on her body and after a few vet visits, it seems she does it out of habit or stress. I spray her paws and she jerks her paws because I think it stings a little. She chewed and licked her paws so much, the parts in between the toes are all red and raw looking. Bitter Apple did nothing to stop her obsessive paw licking.

My other bigger younger GSD loves to chew on things. As a puppy, I sprayed Bitter Apple on chair legs, and on her orthopedic bed, which stopped her from destroying these things. It works for her.

I guess it depends on your pet. As for preventing destruction of things, I think it works. Perhaps only for inanimate things it works, instead on actually on the dog's body.

A great product that does exactly as is advertised. The smell alone is enough to deter my dog. He doesn't bother anything that has been sprayed and the alcohol smell will go away within 2 minutes or so.

We had a rabbit once. He liked to chew power cords. We had to keep spraying the cords with this in hopes he would stop. He just moved to speaker cords and shorted out the speaker. Luckly, he was okay.

I have used this for 3 puppies over 16 years and it is the most effective tool in my arsenal. It definitely helps them learn "no" and "leave it", lol. I like it because I can spray it on my hands to discourage mouthing with no ill effects, as long as I don't put my hand in my mouth!!
