My family has never, ever used neg. training for any of our dogs. Growing up with had 5 dogs. As adults, my sister had 2 dogs and I had 2 dogs.

When my dad got my mom a sheltie puppy, we were all excited. They had Julie who was older and we thought a puppy would get Julie up and playing. Well it did.

However, Sammy the puppy had one very bad habit. She would just bark all the time. I am talking non stop and not always at something or somebody. She would just be laying in the floor and bark continously, non stop, horrible.

We tried to distract her with other things, we tried the can with pennies, the spray bottle, a stern no. We talked to a couple trainers who had offered up things and nothing worked.

By this time, my Mom and Dad had enough and was wanting the puppy gone. So my brother broke down and got the No Bark Collar. He checked out several and got the Innotek Free Spirit.

Sammy only had to wear it for 2 days and had learn not to bark. We took it off. If she barked when somebody came to the house, fine. But then on day four, she went back to the barking. So the collar went back on for the day. The next day off, and after that, we only had to show her the collar to get her to stop. That lasted 2 weeks total and we packed up the collar and never used it again.

Sammy learned that barking at things, people, noise was okay, but not just to be barking.

It was sad to have to use a No Bark Collar, but without it, we would not have had Sammy in our lives for 13 years.

So as a last resort, get the collar. Don't dump the dog.

i have one of these collars for my dogs. i have used it on 3 of my dogs. the only thing i dont like about it is tha tyou have to put it on pretty tight. but it does work and they will stop the barking. i will use it at night when they start barking alot for no reason.

While I do not like using a bark collar I had no choice. My one dog would bark every time she went outside and I had a neighbor threaten to call animal control if something wasn't done. I've done training with her but that did not stop her barking. This collar works and it's only on her for a brief amount of time when she is in the back yard. It is controlled by how much she barks.

my nephew has a wonderful dog. almost perfect, the only problem is running away. you stand out there with her and just looks and runs. the day she was missing 7 hours was enough. i ve never believed in these collars, but something had to be done before she got hit by a train or car. well it works, just a little zap in the beginning. she only wears the collar to potty. and dont even have to be turned on now

The product has helped us- we have 2 dogs that fence fight and bark with neighboring dogs and nothing would stop them. This is a very helpful tool in getting there attention so us and neighbors get some piece & quiet. You CANNOT leave collar on at all times, but we make them wear it during their most Active times of the day to break the pattern and accessive, annoying barking!
