In the past I've kept multiple tropical fish tanks, as many as five tanks at a time, but that was *B.C. (before children). When my son was younger he kept a small tropical tank in his bedroom and learned the basics from this book. They both had goldfish and we had a few Betas, but had to keep them locked in a room away from the cats. My daughter learned fish care from this book as well.

Pros: Nice photos, good information presented in easily understandable language.

Ths is good, but I hope parents do not just leave it up to children to tend fish.
