This book tells the heart-touching story of a young girl. Her pet cat had died last winter and she really wanted a new friend. She brings this idea to her parents.

They decide to visit "The Rescue Center" and head off right away in search of a pup. They encounter many kinds and varieties. They finally settle on "the one," but something is missing. There was another adult dog who touched their hearts -- will they return to the Rescue Center?

This book is a wonderful addition to any child's library and truly shows animal adoption as a great option! A super book to read and discuss together.
