Whiskas Temptations are a solid value for an all-natural treat.
September 24, 2010 5:11 pm | By Zootoo Editor AmyLi
Just to be clear, I never actually tried Whiskas Temptations’ All Natural free range chicken flavored cat treats -- but after observing our two tester cats reject, and then later return to these treats, I think it’s fair to liken them to a vanilla wafer. While a vanilla wafer might not seem like a top cookie choice, it is a solid option.
The all-natural treats certainly have a few great things going for them, price included – a bag of treats runs for around $2.49 at major pet stores, but individuals can also order a bag for under $2 online. The treats are the size of a nickel, rounded and puffed like a piece of kibble – that’s where the whole grain and ground corn comes into play. The inside of the treat is supposed to leave your cat dreaming about its meaty goodness, like the cartoon cat on the packaging, who licks his kitty chops in anticipation of what is to come.
In our first trial run, though, our two tester cats weren’t initially interested to find out what was inside the little treats. After a sniff or two, the cats sulked off. Later in the evening, though, they were back, and accepted the goods – they chomped down and appeared satisfied.
Though the chicken flavor in the treats is free range, chicken meal – and not just chicken – is the main ingredient listed. The main following ingredients include corn meal, animal fat, dried meat-by-products, rice, wheat flour, vitamins and minerals.
Bottom line: if your cat is finicky (and whose isn't?), you might have trouble getting him interested at first; but this all-natural treat is a solid option for the price.
Pros: Great price for a handy, not too smelly treat.
Cons: Finicky cats may be hesitant to try at first.

Cats love these

This is very nutritious for cats and it comes in different flavors. My cats love them all. Especially like no artificial preservatives, flavors or fillers. Grain on the outside and meaty on the inside.
Pros: No artificial preservatives
Cons: None

Tempted to touch...

We actually bought two bags of the new temptations natural cat treats. Zebra has a tartar issue as well as a hairball issue... so These treats are really good for him. The other boys and girls just love them. Oreo and Toby have taken to climbing in drawers and cabinets just to find them.
Pros: Soft chewy, smells normal
Cons: Cats like them to much
