Fabulous Treats for Kitty

posted 5 years ago

Behold the greatest kitty bribery tool in the world! I use Greenies to convince my kitties of the wisdom of cutting their claws. My kitties now know the paw-dicure routine: "Want a treat? Yes? Well, you have to get your nails clipped first." At this point, I hold up the clippers and the Greenies and my two cats begrudgingly submit to being picked up, placed belly up in my lap and having their nails clipped. They get two treats for each paw. I can usually get all of Smudge's paws done at one time. Adso, who will do damage if he gets angry enough, will let me do a paw, then his treats, a paw then his treats...and so on. After all, just how much indignity will a cat allow him/herself to endure at the expense of the human's couch? :-) He *has* to show he is still the boss of me, even if one paw at a time.

My kitties eat a wet, grain-free diet, so I use Greenies very carefully...but the look on their eyes when they see me pull out the bag makes me realize that I couldn't dare cut them out of their world! =^..^=

Pros: My cats L-O-V-E these treats

Cons: Dry texture

Cats love it!

posted 6 years ago

I received a small sample bag of these in the mail after I requested them. Most of my cats enjoyed these treats and would have eaten the whole bag if I let them. A few of them did not and just turned their nose up at them.

The major downfall I noticed though is that after reading the package, it is recommended to feed your cat several of these per day for maximum benefits. When you have a multiple cat household as I do, that may not be so practical.

I didn't notice any difference in their breath, but I'd imagine we would have to feed these for at least a month or so before observing any changes.

I have not priced these in the store, but if they were reasonably priced, I may consider purchasing them.

Pros: Nice little size, cats loved them, did not smell bad to me

Cons: According to package, must feed several a day to acheive results

They seem to like them NOW!

posted 5 years ago

I got a sample of these at Petco a while ago. I tried feeding them to my cats, but they seemed utterly disinterested. They sat on a shelf for months until this morning, when I noticed them and decided to try to give them to the cats. I put them in the bowl and the cats started to gobble them up! I'm so glad! I think these a probably really good for the cats, since they are indoor cats and I'm glad they help keep the teeth clean. I think I will buy more very soon, maybe even try a different flavor!

Pros: Clean teeth

Cons: Ddin't like them at first

Excellent Treats

posted 6 years ago

My cat NEVER eaten treats before; he won't even eat wet food! We bought the cat greenies in hopes that we'd be able to finally hit a home run, and luckily we did. He goes through almost a bag a week (he trips us down the stairs if we don't give them to him first thing in the morning and before bed). The texture seems to fit his finickiness and he's never gotten sick, no matter how many he's eaten... not to mention that it keeps his breath and teeth ALOT less smelly.

Pros: cleans teeth, good for finicky eaters

Cons: cost $$$

Chomp, chomp, chomp

posted 6 years ago

From the research I've done, it doesn't look as though Feline Greenies ever had the problems that Canine Greenies did, because the two products are made with different ingredients. And that's a load off my mind, because I think if I tried to stop feeding these to my cats, they would kill me in my sleep. All three of them love Greenies - especially the salmon flavor - not least because they are great treats to throw around for your cats to chase.

Pros: good for oral care

Cons: picky eaters don't always take to it

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
