Good idea in theory

posted 6 years ago

all of my cats seemed very interested in these treats...and why shouldn't they? after all, they're 100% real salmon, i'm sure they smell just wonderful to cats. now, whether or not the cat can eat them might be a different story entirely. if your cat likes very crunchy treats they might like these. but my little guys couldn't quite make heads or tails of them. on the one hand, they smell like a tasty treat, but on the other hand, food just isn't supposed to be rock hard!! the cats had a heck of a time trying to chew and swallow these. perhaps a larger than average cat with a much larger mouth and stronger jaws might have an easier time with these treats. my dog certainly had an easier time with them. but for the average cat, if you're looking for a nice 100% natural salmon treat, you're probably better off buying something freeze-dried. freeze-dried treats are much easier eat. they're soft and flaky, and even when given to cats is fairly large chunks, they have no problem breaking them apart and nibbling bits off.

can't say the same for Snack 21 salmon treat, though.

Pros: all natural, no additives, small pieces

Cons: very, VERY hard!

Healthy treat

The treats are made from dried salmon. The treats are a little hard and my cats were not too sure about them at first. Now they love the treats.

Pros: no additives

Cons: hard

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
