Halo Liv-a-Littles Protein Treats feature 100% meat for a taste cats and dogs relish.
February 22, 2011 3:28 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.
A top-notch product from the folks at Halo, the Liv-a-Littles Protein Treats are made of 100% freeze-dried white meat chicken or beef, depending on your pet’s preferred flavor. As for artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives? Well, the ingredients I just listed above are the *only* ones on the label. That’s it. Just straight meat.
This commitment to a high-quality ingredient list is in keeping with the proud “all-natural” stamp on the label, as well as the other products from Halo’s line. And for a high-protein treat, the Liv-a-Littles option sets the bar high. The treat’s crunchy texture stimulates your pet’s instinct to chew, and its real meaty taste is a temptation that both dogs and cats find irresistible.
The only downside — and it’s a small one, in my book — to the Liv-a-Littles protein treats is that the size of the individual snacks means that you will need to snap the treats into smaller pieces for your pet, or break them up over the food bowl. But this is a minor complaint about an otherwise top-quality product.
What’s truly undeniable about the Halo Liv-a-Littles are the taste and appeal for pets. When our reviewer cat tried Liv-a-Littles for the first time, she loved them and devoured them quickly. In fact, if there was ever a clear reason that dog vs. cat relations might break down in our tester arena, it would be over these treats. It seems that high quality and real meat is a powerful lure for any red-blooded four-legged carnivore after all!
Pros: All-natural ingredients; both cats and dogs relish the taste.
Cons: Size requires you to break up or crumble for your pet.
