Cats go wild for the ToyShoppe Playables.

As every cat owner knows, it’s nearly impossible to predict which toy your pet will love and which it will snub. When it comes to Francie, our cat tester, a good rule of thumb is that the more expensive or fancy an item is, the less interest she will have in it (the sofa being the exception).
Playables — catnip-scented toy mice — fall squarely into the “not fancy” category of pet amusements. With their lightly furred, pastel-colored bodies, little pink ears, and wide-set eyes, they look almost like something a child would collect. The flashiest thing about Playables is the subtle rattling sound they make when shaken.
It was not surprising, then — given her penchant for the low-tech — that Francie took an immediate shine to her new toys. I was not prepared, though, for the vehemence of her reaction, which I can only describe as enthusiasm bordering on mania.
The minute the first little mouse skittered across the floor in front of her, Francie became a woman possessed. Transported back to her primal roots, she lay in wait, tail thrashing, before leaping upon her prey, wrestling it into submission, and then carrying it off in her jaws like a prize kill. Afterwards she graciously set the toy free…only to repeat this cycle of attack again, and again, and again. In fact, in the ten days since the mice came into our home, I have not been able to interest Francie in any other diversion, and if she spies one of them sitting in the middle of the room, she is unable to pass by without engaging it in some way.
Playables are adorable, lightweight, and — so far — sturdy enough to stand up to a lot of vigorous play. They also come in a handy pack of six, so when you lose one under the fridge or behind the bed (which is inevitable), your cat will still have many more to enjoy.
If this reviewer were allowed to add another star or two, Francie would wholeheartedly approve, but we must be content with the highest rating — five.
Pros: Creates hours of manic enjoyment; sturdy and lightweight; pack of multiples makes the toy easy to replace.

My cats love these little furry mice. They swat them all around the foor, chasing after them & pouncing as if they've just caught their prey. They carry them around from room to room & they really seem to love the little rattle inside. That just makes them go wild. I always keep a new package of these for any new fosters or rescues that come here. They're great for those days of isolation.
Pros: durable, cats love them, lightweight enough to fly across the floor
