Multipet Bada Beam Cat Toy

My cats love the laser pointers, so we got this thinking that it would allow them to play all the time without out this. My cats, however, only feign interest in it for a few minutes. I think it is is because the laser movement is not random, so they are not interested in chasing it. It also produces a buzzing noise, that I suppose is made to make a "insect-like" sound or something, but it doesn't fool the cats. Overall, my cats really could care less about this, but are still entertained by the laser pointer I use for them.

My cats love this toy! They have always liked to chase the laser light toys so I got this thinking they would like it and it lets me be lazy and not have to operate the pen lazer light. At first I was not impressed, the light goes around in a small circle and the path doesn't vary at all. My cats figured out right away that the light was coming from the toy and tried to look in. I thought it was a bust, but tried setting it up on a table with the beam pointed toward the floor and that's all it took for them to start chasing it and loving it. Since it is further off the ground the circle path is now bigger and I think that made the difference. It runs for about 15 minutes and then turns off and my cats will come get me to tell me to turn it on again. They will play for about 30 minutes at a time. This is by far the best toy I have ever bought for them. They get exercise and I have no excuse because all I have to do is flip the on button - easy!

Pros: Keeps cats entertained

Cons: circle doesn't vary in pattern
