I do rescue so I keep this on hand for those cats who are emaciated, hurt, or have other health issues. I first got it when I rescued a kitty that the vet said probably had only hours to live. He had been injured, had a severe infection & was so emaciated that I could see every bone. He could barely stand up. I supplemented his diet with Energel & he started improving very quickly. He gained weight & strength & surprised everyone. It contains vitamins, minerals & is an excellent source of extra calories for those cats that can't eat very much due to their condition.
