In general, flea shampoos will kill what is on the pet when you bathe them, but after the pet is dry, new fleas can jump on. There are so many great products out there that kill fleas quickly (such as oral capstar) and others that may take af ew hours but then will last a month (advantage, frontline, revolution), that I tend to steer my patients away from shampoos. It's great if you want to get an initial kill of the fleas and wash off that nasty flea dirt, but I would rely on something else to control your fleas.

This shampoo does work to kill the fleas but will not keep them off. If you just want to kill fleas better off going with Dawn then something that will keep the fleas off so your not putting so many cemicals on their body. This flea collar smells strong and does cause skin irritation.

Used on cats when had a severe flea infestation and really helped. No problems noted.
