I have seen something like this in cat community rooms in shelters and thought it would provide some variety of activities for my cats. I bought one when I saw a few with the price marked down at a local pet supply store. When I first put it out, several cats were interested. It's a good thing I took a picture then because thirty minutes later there wasn't a cat near it. I eventually put some catnip in the cup on top and a couple of the cats pawed it or chewed on the gum stimulator. So it's good that I didn't pay very much or it would have been a waste of money.
