Although nothing will keep my cats completely off the fabric, this scratcher seems to attract them more than some others, it's not messy like the cardboard ones that they do like, they seem to like the rope like feel of this one, they can really get their claws into it.

this is a great scratcher for cats to use. they love to scratch everything but with this there will be less problems with your furniture
