I have been using Doctors Foster and Smith Hairball Remedy, Malt Flavor and it is a very convenient way to treat cats to reduce hairballs. When my cats started coughing in that way that I knew was from hairballs I bought this and it has greatly reduced this external reaction of coughing. You squeeze about a teaspoon on your finger and rub it o their paws. The directions also say you can put some on the tip of their noses, but that didn't go over so well. They lick it right off their paws and seem to enjoy the flavor. Just be careful when squeezing the tube, it comes out of the tube very quickly and is a little hard to control. I got some on the floor but the cats just licked it off the floor. Ir's better than adding to food, however, because the chance of wasting the product is higher.

My cats won't lick it off my finger.I have to slop it on their paw and have to pretty much rub it in so they won't shake it off.Then they have to lick their leg clean if they don't want the goop there...which they don't!

I've been using this with my cat and she seems to like it well enough. If I spread it on her paws she will lick it off. This is one of the better hairball remedies that I have used and would highly recommend it.
