Love the food but my cat's stomach doesn't!

posted 6 years ago

I love the Wellness line of products and had purchased their dog treats for my dogs for quite awhile. I decided to try to switch my cats to a higher quality food and after researching different brands decided to try Wellness. The quality of the ingredients is superb. Not a lot of fillers or by-products and good healthy balanced nutrition. After giving my cats time to adjust (3-4 wks) and mixing it slowly in with their other brand, my senior cat just could not tolerate the food. It upset his stomach tremendously. I would still recommend it as a food to try but transition slowly because the ingredients are quite different from what most cats are used to.

Pros: good human grade quality ingredients

Cons: cost, upset cat's tummy

What Was I Thinking

posted 5 years ago

I have one cat who is a little older, a little lazy and and a little chubby and thought that this would be a good choice of supplemental food for him. I couldn't be more wrong and would have been spared the expense if I carefully read the list of ingredients before purchasing. Barley, oats, rice, alfalfa, peas, cranberries??Not food for cats my friends--at least not mine. I have given this product a rating of 3 because at least it is not loaded with animal by-products and other objectionable ingredients.

Pros: Less Additives and Preservatives

Cons: Pricey and Cat Won't Eat

Daisy loves this food

posted 5 years ago

This has been the best thing for my cat. She had allergies and the vet tried her on other prescription food that she refused to eat. I researched to find healthy options and this topped the chart for me. Since she's been eating this brand, she has no more allergies, has a healthy, shiny coat and is in great health. Thankfully the local pet stores now carry this. 4+ years ago when I first started getting it, I had to order online and pay huge shipping costs. Now I can get it 2 miles from my home!

Pros: Healthy, no by-products

Cons: None

My cats liked this

posted 6 years ago

I tried a free sample of this through Cat Fancy magazine, so it was only 1 pound, but the food bowl I put this in was emptied quickly. I like Wellness products because they use human-grade ingredients

Pros: they ate it & seemed to like it-it's healthy stuff.

Cons: price

Good product

posted 5 years ago

We like Wellness products for our cats. They both are a little overweight (okay, one is really overweight) and we mix this product with other varieties of Wellness for them. They seem to like their food better with a combo of tastes.

Pros: Good ingredients

Cons: Can be pricey
