I have never really liked the Guillotine style trimmers. I think they are more difficult to keep sharp and can be very difficult with a squirmy cat.

Pros: Will work if you are very careful

Cons: I'm don't like this particular style

I was very suprised that my cat allowed me to clip his nails. He had been an outdoor cat in the past and never needed to be clipped but a move to an appartment made clipping necessary. The clippers seemed to work well without scaring the cat. But I can't imagine trying to file his nails so the file seems to be unnecessary.

Cons: Difficult seeing nail

These nail trimmers make it hard to see the quick and are just don't designed the right way... I don't trust them...

Pros: can't see the quick

Cons: none

I like this style, but the built in vile of powder doesn't stay put in the handle.

Pros: clips quickly

Cons: stiptic falls out
