The cat I had that was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism did very well on Methimazole. I used the pills for him and he was easy to pill. He started gaining weight and his coat got looking better. Unfortunately I don't know how he would have done long term on it as he was about 15y old when he was diagnosed and died less than a year later from a lung tumor. Stoney only had to have the medicine once a day and worked well for as long as I had him.

We use this on 3 of our shelter cats, two get it in food and another one we use a piller for. We have found a chewable one that our vet told us about also. It worked great also
