Petmate Purrformaself-cleaning Litter Box

I bought this as a replacement for my original Littermaid brand automatic cleaning litter box. I returned it the next day. It did not work at all. Luckily, I had used the Littermaid brand previously so I understood how it was actually supposed to work. I am not sure if it is the design, or the strength of the motor or what exactly, but this model is entirely ineffective. When I returned it to exchange for the other brand, the clerk who helped me at the store relayed to me that this brand was awful, many many people had obviously had problems with it. I had had my original Littermaid for quite a while, and bought the same brand again after the disaster with this brand. I would say that I really disliked this brand. I suggest trying the Littermaid brand before swearing off of all automatic litter boxes. If you try that one and do not like it, they may not be for you, but do not base your decision on this brand, it is a total dud.

I bought this litter box after my litter maid of a few years started to go downhill. My sister and I both bought one and both had the same problems...it works horribly. From what I can remember it was constantly getting stuck in the middle of the cleaning cycle and I never did figure out why. After about a week my sister and I both returned ours to the pet store and I ordered a Liter Robot online and have had it ever since and never been happier!!

I would highly recommend that you stay away from this product, but if you decide to give it a try be sure there is a great return policy at your pet store!
