This product was donated to PWP by a Petco store that was closing and we use it on cats that we suspect are suffering from a urinary tract infection.IF the crystals change color indicating blood in the urine, then we get a urine sample and send it off to the lab to try to determine the cause of the blood (crystals, bacteria, etc)
This is something that is VERY easy for our foster parents to do at home and saves us from an expensive trip into the vet.

Do not buy this to use every day, it is so expensive. But, it does help detect urinary infections. This was a great idea.

Cons: A differtent texture than clay litter, so some cats don't want to use it.
