Non-dusty, great with non-clay clumping litters!
posted 5 years ago
i discovered this stuff in PetSmart about a month ago and decided to give it a try. WOW!! this is my new litter deodorizer!!
ok, i use Swheat Scoop litter for a few reasons, one of them being that it's so very low-dust. but then it's also un-scented, which has its pros and cons. on the plus side, it's great for people with noses sensitive to the excessively perfume-y scents of your typical cat litter. on the down side, when you're living in a small place with multiple cats, having a *little* bit of fresh scent in the box goes a long way in keeping your place from smelling like one big litter box. you can add your typical litter freshener to it, sure, but your typical litter freshener is all powdery, and it kind of defeats the purpose of having a really low-dust litter.
FreshAire litter freshener comes in 2 great scents: cedar and pine. i've only tried the cedar myself because, well, i'm rather partial to cedar. it's got a fresh, natural scent to it, because it IS all natural. the cedar variety is 100% kiln-dried cedar and the pine scent is 100% kiln-dried pine. and it's NOT a powder. i guess i'd call it "flakes", for lack of a better word. the bits are much smaller than the pieces in your typical cedar small animal bedding, but definitely not a powder. and FreshAire doesn't seem to affect the litter's ability to clump properly, either. this stuff really is the answer for anyone using an unscented litter who wants something lightly scented and non-powdery to freshen it up.
Pros: all natural, non-dusty, light natural scent
