Feline Pine Cat Litter removes silica dust for a healthier litter option.

November 24, 2010 8:13 am | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.

Feline Pine prides itself in being a truly chemical and additive free litter so that when your cat cleans himself and does its business, he won’t inhale or swallow anything that he shouldn’t. Because the product contains no silica, Feline Pine emits no silica dust. Best of all, the litter is also highly absorbent, bonding immediately to ammonia particles and reducing unwanted odor from waste. It gobbles up liquid and solid waste with equal efficiency and damp spots usually don’t remain for more than a minute or two.

Feline Pine is highly effective — there is no arguing that — but as with many all-natural products, you may need to shift your expectations for how long one bag is going to last and how cost effective it is going to be. If you buy a bag of Feline Pine, expect to buy another one within the month because of both the size of the bag and the amount of time the product stays fresh — generally shorter than products that are filled with chemical additives and preservatives.

So whether or not Feline Pine Cat Litter is right for you really depends on your priorities — how important is having an all-natural cat litter? Is it worth spending more money and having to return to the store more frequently? For me, the tradeoff is well worth it, and Feline Pine is a solid option for an all-natural alternative litter.

Pros: Highly absorbent; all-natural.

Cons: Bag does not last as long as other litters.

Not a great product in the eyes of my crew

posted 4 years ago

My husband bought this litter to try and my cats cannot stand it! The pellets are large and it must hurt their paws or something because they wouldn't go near the litter box we put this product into.

I really had wished it would have worked because we have a dust issue in our house with the traditional 'clumping' litter being on the dusty side.

Now, I've known others who have used this product and it is also good for post-surgical felines.

Pros: environmentally friendly, no dust

Cons: the cats don't like stepping on the pellets

Works great and eco-friendly

posted 4 years ago

I've been using this product for several years. My cats don't mind it at all. It seems to control odor better than the other litters I've tried. I don't notice the dust and tracking I had with clay litters either. I recommend this litter to anyone that asks. They also have a clumping formula but I prefer to use a non clumping litter.

Pros: eco-friendly, competitively priced, works well with multiple cats, no dust, no tracking

Cons: none
