This litter box is great if you have a cat that likes to go kind of high in the box instead of squatting down low. The high back keeps it from going outside the pan and/or on the floor.

I really like the high back style. I have one cat that just doesn't get the whole squat style instead he insists on starting in what he thinks is a squat and rising as he goes spraying every thing. So, of course the high back helps protect the walls behind the box
