It works as much as I can get the toothbrush or finger brush to where it's supposed to be. One cat tolerates it more than the other (probably because of personality more than anything). I think it is controlling the plaque. I do know that my cat doesn't really like the process, so I do not use it every day, which almost defeats the purpose of doing it in the first place....

if you have patience, you can use this product. Most cats hate it at 1st and its best to raise them with regular brushings. however, some cats aren't lucky and get this thrown at them at once. I feel its really important to clean their teeth regularly, and this product does the job WELL. its also reasonably priced!

I am sure this is a very healthy product and I whole heartedly support good dental hygiene, however, we have two cats who never had dental problems. Both love to chew around the edges of corrugated boxes and that seems to really get rid of tartar build-up. The only time I really smell kitty breath is after meals.

Tried to use on one of my cats by vet recomendation. However cat was not into it and after a couple tries would not come to me to do it any more. Probably more the cat than the product.
