If you're a typical cat owner, you probably look at tiny toothbrushes for felines in the aisles of the pet store and think, "yeah, right." Just the prospect of having his teeth brushed might be enough to send your cat under the bed for a day or two.

However, good oral care is essential to a cat's overall health. So what is a responsible pet owner to do?

Fortunately, Dental Fresh for Cats provides a convenient, simple way to help keep your cat's mouth clean and control bad breath. Just a teaspoon for every eight ounces of drinking water produced a marked change in our tester cat's previously nuclear-grade breath.

In fact, after a week of daily use, I noted that even less than a teaspoon sufficed to keep the breath under control. Note that this is less than the directed amount, but might work for those owners concerned about saving costs.

As with any oral freshening product, be sure to consult with your veterinarian to ensure that your cat still receives necessary deep cleanings - which may need to be done at your vet's office, if your cat is as skittish as our tester. But for maintaining good oral health during in-between times, this product is a handy, efficient solution.
