Furminator Tool Cat

Based on all the wonderful things I was reading about the Furminator, I told my sister about it. Her cats and dog think it is the greatest thing. They love it. So, I had to get one of my own. It does do an amazing job of removing fur--I would think it would significantly reduce the fur tumbleweeds and hairballs. But, it was not well-received at all. I am pretty sure it wasn't my technique--I took it to my neighbors so their cats could try it and they thought it was great when I was Furminating them. We'll keep trying, but it has been several weeks already. I also didn't like that you cannot buy just the Furminator tool in pet stores--they come as kits with deshedding sprays and towels and whatnot that I really didn't want. My sister discovered that her vet is selling just the tool and it was much cheaper.

Pros: Does a great job of removing fur

I used to work at the grooming shop in Petco and this is the tool we used to brush cats/dogs. It does an absolutely amazing job on your pets undercoat the first time you use it. Make sure not to use it too much in one place though, my boyfriend caused his fat cat to have a place she looked almost bald (oops). She has a skin condition that I dont know the correct name of but its basically when fat cats can't groom themselves and get dandruff. Ever since we've used the furminator on her, her dandruff has almost completely disappeared.

Is a great product and definitely worth the money.

FYI: Even if you have a dog, buy the cat one! Is only minimally smaller and costs much less!!
