The only time a collar should be used is if provided by a vet. Vet provided flea and tick products will not cause the skin irritation nor contain the potentially harmful chemicals that collors contain. Your pets are worth more than over the counter frugality.
Pros: Cheap
Cons: potentially harmful to the pet
