I bought this for my two picky little cats and they love it to pieces! So much so that the first one broke and I had to invest in a new one. Though i find the filters are hard to buy overseas, Amazon has become my best friend. I think my cats would be lost without this!

Our chihuahua was not drinking enough water because of a collapsing trachea. We found that she could lick the water off the dome without choking. It took about an hour to get her used to it, as she was scared of the noise it makes(water bubbling/flowing). It can be a pain to get clean because you have to take it apart. Its great for animals that have problems drinking with their head down, or with collapsing trachea problems.

Pros: Great for small dogs, good for animals with throat/swallowing problems, good source of fresh water.

Cons: pain to clean, have to get filters on the internet

This product is a little pricey. We bought it cause our cats enjoy drinking from the sink so we thought buying them a cool running water fountain would be a good idea. They only used it twice, and we had to continously clean it out. The filters for the thing aren't cheep either.

I bought this because it looked pretty cool, but my cats did not like the way the water flowed. One of them liked to poke at it, but drinking not so much. I have found they prefer the running water fountain type.

similar to the drinkwell types but the water flows over the dome to be sipped off the top. Some cats really prefer that.
