I love this brand of cat food, but my cats aren;t crazy about the "Light" formula. I just mix it together with the Adult formula, and they eat it right up!

I switched to Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul Light Adult Formula after the vet said my cat was too heavy (duh.)

She did loose a little weight on the new diet, and does not puke it up like she does some other brands. I assume that the taste is fine, but I thought it tasted too much like cat food for me to enjoy it. I like the fact that there is less vegtable products in it than most other foods, I'm still not sure about the concept of feeding veggies to a cat, but it sure makes me feel better about her diet than the corn based crap that most cats foods are did. She seems to digest it well, her stools are usually solid and she uses the little box a little less for pooping than she did on other food. (Peeing seemed to stay about the same) It seems like she is consuming less of this food as well, so I suspect that she is getting more of the nutrients out of it.

I'm paying about $28 for the 18 LB bag at our local feed store (Dels Feed and Farm Supply) While that seems expensive, the reduction in consumption as compared to the cheap cat food we used before made up for some of it. I'm also in the position that I can afford the more expensive brands, so I don't really care about the price.

One of my 4 cats had bladder stones and the vet recommended one of Hills Diet cat foods. I checked all the ingredients on a lot of the cat foods and talked with the vets at the various companies and this cat food was very close in its ingredients to the Hills Diet and was much less expensive (although much more expensive that what I was previously feeding them). My vet approved this and the cats have been eating it for at least 3 years with no problems and they all seem to like it.

Pros: healthy, good taste, cats love it

I switched my cats from Innova Evo to Chicken Soup for the Soul because of the large crunchy chunks. With the Evo, Megan and Baxter were swallowing whole instead of chewing so the plaque build up was increasing. My vet suggested a large food so I went on a search for a healthy food with large kibble. I found it with Chicken Soup for the Soul. Now, my cats' teeth are better than ever. At their last appointment, my vet was shocked and said that they no longer needed to have a dental cleaning. I was asked what changed and I told them. It was the food. I have nothing bad to say about Chicken Soup or Evo. Both are fantastic foods.

I accidentally got a sample of the light food instead of the regular adult type, since I want to switch my cat to this brand. He has never eaten anything but Purina ONE, so I wasn't sure if he would accept it. I put a little in one side of his bowl to see what he would do. To my surprise, he loved it! He is a picky eater who usually won't even take cat treats from me, but he ate a third of the bowl in one sitting! It has great ingredients and a good texture that is easier for him to pick up and eat than his old food is, and I will be switching him to the regular adult version of this food, since he doesn't need the light version.

Cons: More expensive than some foods
