I originally had my cats on Purina Indoor Cat Chow with the kitten having a can of wet kitten food on the side, but after reading the ingredients I decided to change what they were eating. I then went to Nutro Natural Choice Indoor Cat food but I didn't like how big the pieces of food were. I have three cats, two males (one an adult and one a kitten) and a female who full grown is only 6 lbs. So, I was a little worried about her having issues chewing those pieces. She'd be sitting at the food bowl still eating way after the other two left.
I kept the bag of Nutro and bought a bag of Blue Buffalo Spa Selects Indoor Cat Food. The pieces were small and the ingredients looked good for my cats. Once I fed the food to them though, I had nothing but problems. The female liked the food and did great on it. She'd been more active, her fur looked even better than normal. But my older male who always had soft, beautiful medium length black fur started shedding like crazy, getting dandruff and vomiting up his food every once in a while. My younger male started having horrible diarrhea.
I'm now switching them back to Nutro. I'd much rather have my female cat spending a bit more extra time chewing her food then my males reacting that way to their food. It seems that for some cats, it's a great food but not for all. If your cat is doing just fine on the food that it's on, I'd be wary of switching them to Blue.
Pros: Minx loved it
Cons: Micro started shedding like crazy along with vomiting and having dandruff, Monk got diahrrea
