Purrfect Food 4 Cats 7+yrs w/ low activity levels

posted 5 years ago

Finding just the right cat food throughout the changing nutritional needs of your cat’s life isn’t always easy…. Especially these days with soooooooooo many choices!
Hope to ease some of the complications from your future choices by eliminating all the rest, but the best: Iams ProActive Health Active Maturity dry cat food.

I've been feeding my 12yr old cat, Jasmine, the same food day in & day out over the last five years. For the first couple of yrs after my cat turned 7, I’d buy 2 different brands of food (always Iams & another) to mix it up 4 her. I just figured she’d like a variety, as I most certainly do.

After 7yrs of her adulthood, I had also been faced with concerns, in switching it up to the “senior” formula from the “adult weight control” formula as the senior formula had a higher fat content than the adult weight control formula. Fortunately, it really hasn’t made any noticeable difference is her overall size.

No matter what flavor, shape, or size of the other mix… she’d munch up the Iams faster. I come to learn that in fact, contrary to veterinarians’ belief, cats do not require any dietary variety. So, for the last 3yrs she’s eaten only the Iams Active Maturity dry cat food.

She loves it and it shows… her coat is beautiful and shiny PLUS my Jasmine Kitty is happy and healthy with the advanced nutritional benefits of eating Iams ProActive Health Active Maturity dry cat food. Unfortunately, it’s not available @ Wal-Mart at low low prices… but she’s worth it!

Pros: Easy size/shape pieces 4 kitty 2 eat, preferred flavor over other similar products, maintains weight, keeps coat shiny, most importantly: keeps kitty happy and healthy :)

Cons: Limited availability and cost

My old girl likes this food.

posted 5 years ago

I have two cats. One old and finiky. One young and easy going. My old girl likes this Active Maturity formula. For that matter so does my younger cat. I feed a combination of Iams formulas. Switching them up a bit to give the cats some flavor variety. I've had good luck with all the Iams cat formulas and though I sometimes suppliment with fresh cooked chicken or fish, they primarily eat the Iams dry foods.

Pros: My cat likes it.

Cons: Can't always find it

This is one of the most balanced cat foods out there. It is great for your cat and they like it too which is a plus for me.

Pros: Very good for your cat and they like it too

Cons: the wet food doesn't always smell that great

Nutritious

We've used various IAMS flavors over the years, and have added this for the older cats. All of them seem to like the flavor, and I feel better knowing the product is meant to help them in aging

Pros: good for them

Cons: none

Delicious and nutrious!

posted 5 years ago

My older cats enjoy this food- they find it tasty and it's good for them, so I'm happy. However the price is less than pleasing, but for a product so good you don't mind the extra money spent.

Pros: good taste, good formula

Cons: pricey
